About
Cho-A Pharm (조아제약) is a KOSDAQ-listed South Korean pharmaceutical manufacturer, head-officed in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, with its production plant in Haman-gun, Gyeongnam province and a research institute in Yeoju. The business traces to the 1988 acquisition of Samgang Pharm, was renamed Cho-A Pharm in July 1995 and incorporated in January 1996; it listed on KOSDAQ in August 1999. The Haman plant was completed in September 1994, obtained KGMP approval in February 1995 and ISO 9001 in May 1996, and makes granules, tablets, capsules and liquid/ampoule dosage forms. The firm states it produces roughly 200 finished pharmaceutical and functional-food products, supplies over 15,000 local pharmacies through 16 domestic sales branches and a MediPharm franchise network, and has exported since 1995 to what it describes as over 20 countries. Product lines cover OTC and prescription medicines, health functional foods, medical-external products and pet products; therapeutic and efficacy statements about individual products are the company's own claims and are not independently verified here.
