Vietnam
Vietnam has become the default China alternative for mid-to-premium apparel. The trade-offs: it's more expensive than Bangladesh, and capacity is increasingly in demand, so good factories can be choosy about smaller orders.

Bangladesh

India
India has the widest range of the three. It's exceptional at natural fibres — cotton in particular — and unmatched on prints, embroidery, embellishment, and hand-work. It's also generally the most flexible on smaller production runs, which suits emerging brands. The watch-out is variance: quality and reliability differ widely between factories, so you're really selecting a specific maker, not 'India.'
Best for: cotton apparel, printed and embellished pieces, craft-forward brands, and brands wanting moderate MOQs.
MOQ reality for a 300–800 unit brand
If you're running 300–800 units per style, the three countries land differently. Bangladesh skews toward higher minimums — you can find smaller runs, but you're swimming against the current. Vietnam sits in the middle and is workable, though premium factories may push back. India is usually the most accommodating for smaller batches, which is why a lot of younger brands start there. - Hidden trading layers. All three are full of trading companies presenting as factories. Confirm you're dealing with the actual manufacturer before anything else.

- Lead-time reality. Get committed dates in writing and a sample timeline before you commit to a season.
