Choose suppliers by knitwear capability, not just price
Pakistan’s listed T-shirt suppliers range from sportswear factories in Sialkot to larger knitwear operations in Lahore, Faisalabad and Karachi. Buyers should first define fabric composition, yarn count, knit structure, GSM, fit, neckline construction, stitching, wash and decoration. Vertically integrated suppliers can sometimes handle knitting, dyeing, printing, embroidery, cutting, sewing and finishing within one organization, while others rely on outside processors. Buyers typically ask which operations are internal because this affects consistency, scheduling, traceability and corrective action when a shade, print or fabric problem occurs.
Use the MOQ distribution to shortlist realistically
The published MOQ data is unusually broad for this category. Of 40 suppliers disclosing a minimum, 25 list 50 units or fewer, six list 51–200, six list 201–500, two list 501–1,000 and one lists more than 1,000. A low advertised MOQ does not automatically apply to every fabric, dye color or custom treatment. Buyers should ask whether minimums are per style, color, artwork or total order. Control samples, costing and bulk consistency
A T-shirt tech pack should define measurements, tolerances, fabric, GSM, trims, stitching, artwork placement, wash, labels and packaging. Buyers typically approve a development sample, fabric or color standard, print or embroidery strike-off and pre-production sample before bulk sewing. Request a cost breakdown that identifies fabric, trims, decoration, packaging and any testing. Ask how shrinkage is allowed for during pattern development and how shade lots are controlled. Before shipping, establish inspection criteria, carton packing, Incoterms and documentation, and confirm the correct customs classification and import requirements with the destination broker.
